Blossom
11 October 2017
Adele Taylor trails one hand along a cascading wall of magenta bougainvillea, the flowers so thick and vivid they almost swallow the whitewashed stone behind them. She wears a dark navy tank top and blue leopard-print leggings that blend urban edge with wild beauty, black trainers on the sandy steps beneath her, her chestnut hair loose and sun-lightened at the tips. Her hazel eyes are soft and contemplative as she gazes toward the camera, one shoulder turned, the brilliant pink blooms framing her like a living watercolour. She peels the tank upward to reveal a matching navy sports bra trimmed with white, her toned stomach flat and lightly tanned, the leopard print wrapping her lean legs as she stands amid the blossoms with the quiet grace of someone who belongs in the picture as much as the flowers do.
The sports bra lifts away and Adele sits on the stone steps, topless, one hand swept through her hair, her firm, natural breasts catching the warm afternoon light while the magenta wall blazes behind her. The leopard leggings remain, their dark blue tones cool against the hot pink and the warm stone, and Adele's relaxed posture, one knee drawn up, head tilted, speaks of easy, unforced intimacy. Her body is lean and athletic, her waist defined, her shoulders lightly freckled from the sun, and there is something almost painterly about the way the colour and light compose around her. Blossom is a set about beauty meeting beauty, nature's extravagance reflected in the woman sitting quietly at its heart, bare and radiant and entirely in bloom.
