Diet Coke Break
18 August 2022
Georgie Darby sits on a sun-baked terracotta staircase with a chilled can of Diet Coke sweating in one hand and a leopard-print bodysuit doing its best to contain the rest. White Calvin Klein trainers and ankle socks give her the look of a nineties pop video extra who accidentally wandered into a Mediterranean resort, while her vivid cherry-red hair, pinned back with aviator sunglasses, burns even brighter than the midday sun overhead. The yellow villa wall behind her radiates heat, iron railings frame the steps, and Georgie's expression is the kind of unbothered cool that makes you want to pull up a stair and crack open a can of your own. Diet Coke Break is a nod to the famous adverts, and Georgie is the view from the office window.
The leopard print peels down from one shoulder as Georgie rests her chin on her hand, one pale breast spilling free while her long legs stretch wide across the terracotta, the Diet Coke sitting forgotten on the step beside her. The bodysuit keeps slipping until she perches on the iron railing in nothing but a tiny black thong and those CK trainers, arms folded beneath her bare chest, her porcelain skin almost glowing against the mustard-coloured plaster. Red hair, black lace, white leather, yellow walls: the colour palette is as bold as Georgie herself, and the fizzy drink on the steps is the only thing in this set that has gone flat.
