Escape The Ordinary
06 April 2023
Serenity leans against the kitchen worktop with both hands behind her, blonde Hollywood waves tumbling over one shoulder, her grey-blue sports bra and matching marl leggings the colour of a winter sea against the vivid turquoise hexagonal tiles behind her. A bowl of tangerines and a cobalt water dispenser anchor the scene in the everyday, but there is nothing ordinary about the woman standing barefoot on the laminate. Her blue eyes are lined dark and smoky, her lips parted in a knowing half-smile, and the strappy bra traces the line of her collarbones before dipping between her breasts. The leggings grip her from hip to ankle, the tonal panelling following the curve of her waist and the sweep of her thighs like a contour map drawn in jersey.
Serenity pulls the bra overhead and perches against the counter, her pert, round breasts standing high on her ribcage as the turquoise tiles frame her like a mosaic. She turns, and the leggings slide down to her thighs to reveal a white thong stretched across her peachy, dimple-free bum, one glance back over her shoulder enough to stop the room dead. In the final frame she kneels on the marble counter itself, on all fours, her breasts swinging beneath her as she tugs at the white lace between her legs, the tiles and the oranges and the polished chrome all suddenly irrelevant. Escape The Ordinary makes good on its promise: by the end of this set, the kitchen will never feel mundane again.
