Hats Off
19 August 2021
Frankie Hollywood descends the tiled steps of a whitewashed Mediterranean villa like a woman arriving at her own party, a white Panama hat tipped at a rakish angle over honey-blonde curls that tumble in beachy waves past her collarbones. An orange bralette wraps her bust in vivid citrus, a light blue denim mini skirt grazes the tops of her tanned thighs, and clear block heels click on the white-and-terracotta risers. Ornate iron grilles guard the double doors behind her, a sculpted topiary sits to one side, and the whole scene radiates the effortless glamour of a European summer. Hats Off is both a title and a reaction, and Frankie earns both the second she appears.
She takes a seat on the steps and lets the hat fall to one side, the orange bralette dipping low as she leans forward with her hands clasped between her knees and a look that hovers between invitation and dare. The skirt rides high, the thigh tattoo peeks beneath the frayed denim hem, and frame by frame the layers disappear. By the closing image Frankie sits nude on the sun-warmed steps, legs spread wide, one hand raking through her curls, her breasts bare and her tanned, athletic body framed by the grand villa facade. The heels are the only things she kept, and the Panama hat lies somewhere off-camera, discarded like the rest of the outfit. Hats off, indeed.
