Waiting On You
09 November 2023
Seline P stretches out on a plush beige corner sofa in a modern open-plan space, her bare feet tucked beneath a faux-fur throw as she toys with the hem of a mint-green cami vest. Dark blue skinny jeans cling to her crossed legs, and a fire-engine-red Stratocaster hangs on the white wall above her like a pop-art accent. Skylights flood the room with clean, overhead brightness, picking out the blonde in her two-tone hair and the detailed ink that decorates both arms and creeps across her collarbones. Waiting On You has the lazy, anticipatory energy of a Saturday evening before plans begin, and Seline looks like the best plan anyone could make.
The skinny jeans slide to her knees, revealing a pair of teal lace knickers that contrast sharply with the soft mint of the vest, and Seline stands beside the sofa with a look that lands squarely between patient and impatient. The vest lifts next, and she holds it bunched above her chest, the ornamental ink across her sternum catching the skylight as the green lace sits low on her hips. In the closing frame she lies back along the length of the sofa, completely bare, one arm draped over the armrest, the red guitar behind her the only remaining splash of colour in a scene that has been stripped to skin, ink, and warm neutral tones. Whoever she was waiting on missed out. The show started without them.
